About me

The story behind the blog

The question that has always bugged me. How do you successfully present yourself? You have to sound fun and quirky so as not to bore your readers, or even worse make them fall asleep. On the other hand, since you are just starting writing you have to write something that will most surely attract an audience. It is a tough life, I assure you. Definitely not easy to be an author. Don’t know how you guys do it. Absolutely respect you even more.

My name is Maja (or Maya, as far as English-speaking people are concerned) and I come from a small country in Europe, named Croatia. I am a teacher of English language and literature and Croatian language and literature, currently working in three different schools, two high schools and a primary school. As my love for languages, honorable mentions should go to the finished language course in Spanish, and the basic, very indispensable usage of German language. I enjoy listening to music, travelling, watching movies, surfing the Internet and drinking gallons and gallons of coffee (yes, I know it’s not good for me :D), even have some dreams and aspirations toward my dream job as an editor, so I thought a blog would be a great way to start. It was just something that I find fun and interesting to do. What is more, I have recently developed an enormous amount of love toward photography. However, still not courageous enough to live from this hobby yet. :D

Most of all, I have started this blog because I have a tremendous love for reading and would like to share some of my thoughts. Everything I read and review here is mostly for my own pleasure and to promote willingly the authors I enjoy. I specifically enjoy reading a series because I always have some other questions and preoccupations that were not mentioned in a standalone novel. I hope to interact with other book lovers and share some good reading advice.

Thank you for taking your time to visit the blog. Hope you enjoy it. :)
